I wanted to get a better view off the deck of the sailboat so I went searching for a pole mount for my GoPro camera. After reviewing all of the different pole mounts available for the GoPro camera, I decided it would be easier and a lot cheaper to make my own out of an old ski pole. Most of the pole mounts I found online were priced anywhere from $30 to $60.
In this post I will tell you what tools, accessories and steps are required to make your very own “inexpensive” GoPro pole mount.

Tools & Equipment required:

Old ski pole
GoPro thumb knob
1/8 Nut & bolt
Drill
Hacksaw
Electrical tape

By following the simple steps I laid out, you will be able to create a cheap but useful GoPro accessory.
The DIY pole mount is great for getting an overhead perspective while walking with a group, excellent for skiing and perfect for those hard to reach shots on the boat.
